Endorsed by the California Professional Firefighters Executive Board, the PYI+ long-term disability (LTD) plan provides you income protection for both on and off-the-job disabilities (including mental and nervous conditions). Our LTD plan guarantees that your base salary will not fall below 66 2/3% (integrating with any other income you are receiving) when you become eligible to receive benefits.

Members in good standing (Full Union Members) of California Professional Firefighters are eligible to enroll in the PYI+ plan, which covers up to 24 months when your disability prevents you from performing the duties of your own occupation as a firefighter, and continues to protect your income thereafter if you disability prevents you from working in any occupation beyond the initial 24 months, to age 65.
